Long Beach native and rap legend Warren G is taking on a new role as co-owner of the city’s upcoming professional baseball team. Set to debut in the Pioneer Baseball League in 2026, the Long Beach Baseball Club will play at Blair Field, home of the Long Beach State Dirtbags.
For Warren G, the move is personal. Raised in Long Beach and a former multi-sport athlete, he sees the team as a chance to give back to his community and inspire the next generation. One potential team name already drawing attention: the “Long Beach Regulators,” a nod to his 1994 hit Regulate.
The project is backed by Innovational Baseball Partners, with support from city officials and Cal State Long Beach. The vision extends beyond baseball, aiming to blend sports with local culture—music, food, community events, and possibly Warren G’s own Sniffin’ Griffin’s BBQ at the stadium.
Blair Field has a rich baseball history, and this effort—bolstered by strong city and league partnerships—hopes to finally bring long-term professional baseball success to Long Beach.
With team naming underway and stadium upgrades planned, the club is gearing up for its first pitch in 2026. Warren G’s involvement ensures this venture is more than just a game—it’s about culture, pride, and community identity.
